Introducing TraceCalc Pro v2.20: Smarter, More Flexible Heat Tracing Design

Written by Raychem Expert | 2026-06-19 14:31

TraceCalc Pro v2.20 is here, delivering a range of enhancements designed to improve efficiency, flexibility, and accuracy in electric heat tracing system design. This release focuses on simplifying workflows while adding deeper analytical capabilities and updated product integrations.

Streamlined Design with New Import Capabilities

TraceCalc Pro v2.20 introduces enhanced import features to reduce manual effort and improve consistency. Users can now import heat tracing lines directly from Excel using region-specific templates or reuse data from existing projects within the same unit system. These improvements help save time and minimize errors - especially for large or repeatable projects.

Heat-Up and Cool-Down Analysis

A new module enables pipe heat-up analysis and cool-down time estimation, offering valuable insight into system performance. This helps engineers improve design reliability. Users remain responsible for validating inputs, heat distribution, and any phase-change considerations.

Simplified System Design with Direct MI Connections

The ability to connect Mineral Insulated (MI) cables directly to controllers can reduce system complexity by eliminating junction boxes in some applications. This can streamline layouts and lower material needs, though users should assess impacts on controller functionality.

Greater Configuration Flexibility

Users can now define controller mounting preferences - on-pipe or off-pipe - within the software. This allows for more accurate designs that reflect real-world installation requirements.

Expanded Insulation Options

ArmaGel XGH and XGC have been added to the insulation library, giving users more flexibility to select materials suited to their thermal and project requirements.

New Controller Integration

TraceCalc Pro v2.20 includes theRaychem Elexant 3500i for EMEAI regions, a modern electronic thermostat offering advanced monitoring, communication (RS485/Bluetooth), and safety features such as current sensing and ground fault detection.

Regional Updates and Product Changes

  • North America: SC Series heaters no longer require validation codes. A new MI attachment option (RMI-TW tie wire) has been added, while the RMI-JB3 junction box is now obsolete.

  • EMEAI & APAC: XPI-F and HDF/HDC heating cable ranges are obsolete, with recommended alternatives available.

TraceCalc Pro v2.20 brings together improved usability, expanded options, and enhanced analysis tools—helping engineers design more efficiently and with greater confidence. Download TraceCalc Pro v2.20 today to take advantage of the latest features and improvements.
