The Raychem Elexant 3500i is a family of compact, full-featured, electronic thermostats for heat tracing control and monitoring for freeze protection and process temperature applications. In what types of industrial environments can this thermostat be used?
The Elexant 3500i is suitable for hazardous and nonhazardous locations and can be wall mounted or pipe mounted.
What temperature ranges does this thermostat control?
What temperature ranges does this thermostat control?
The Elexant 3500i comes with a hybrid switching relay that is rated to 250,000 power cycles for a superior product life (IEC 60079), it lasts 2 ½ times as long as a mechanical thermostat.
What is the warranty for the 3500i? What is the warranty period for this product?
The warranty for the 3500i is covered under Chemelex’ standard warranty for Control & Monitoring which is 2 years from product shipment.

The Elexant 3500i is cULus approved for the following areas

What mounting options are available for the thermostat? And can it be mounted on conduit pipe?
The Elexant 3500i has two mounting options that can be selected for any variant. A pipe mount option for installation directly on pipes with exposure temperatures up to 205°C (401°F), as well as a wall mount option. Mounting brackets are not included; however, conduit hubs are included on the wall mount version.

What are the dimensions of the thermostat?
The pipe stand variant of the Elexant 3500i is 11.1"H x 8.1"W x 3.5"D (282 mm x 206 mm x 90mm). The wall mount variant of the Elexant 3500i is 6.3"H x 8.1"W x 3.5" D (160mm x 206 mm x 90mm
What triggers the alarms for the Alarming variant and how do you set the alarm point?
If you have the Alarming variant, you will get the temperature alarms but because this variant does not measure current or ground fault, you don’t get current alarms or ground fault alarms. For a full list of alarms that are available by variant, you will find this list in the 3500i Installation Instructions, this also tells you how you can set the alarm set points.
Do we need ground terminals for MI connection with respect to the 3500i?
Yes.
Are the internal modules approved on their own to be installed into a separate enclosure?
Yes.
